2020 Round Up – The Year Where Everything Changed.

Table of Contents

We’re not going to dwell on the negatives of 2020, instead we want to wrap up the year by telling you some positive stories of what we’ve been up to as a business who specialises in WEEE recycling and Data Destruction..

Despite office closures and two national lockdowns, we’ve still had a great year as a business. We’ve had to be flexible and introduce some new measures to keep our customers and colleagues safe, but we’ve risen to the challenge.

We introduced an IT sanitisation service so that we can sanitise office equipment either on-site or at our facility ready to be deployed to home workers. We’ve also increased our vehicle fleet so that we can complete more collections for our customers; including an electric vehicle to help reduce our carbon footprint.

Our CEO Grant told us a little more about how to adapt during a pandemic.

The Statistics

We’ve tracked 133,391 assets through our facility which is 12,607 more than 2019.

1,350 tonnes of electrical and WEEE waste have been processed.

We refurbished and resold 42,368 IT assets including 5,169 mobile phones, preventing them from going to landfill.

Our drivers have been up and down the country doing over 1,600 collections of redundant IT.

Protecting Our Environment

The impact our business has on the environment plays a huge part in everything we do. We always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint and help our customers reduce their carbon footprint too with our recycle and reuse services.

We purchased our first electric vehicle this year and swapped all of our lighting to LED throughout our facility. We’ve switched to a 100% renewable electricity supply and carbon neutral gas supply and we’re committed to reducing our carbon footprint by 30% by 2030.

Charity and Community Projects

As a business we love to give back to our community and we’re proud to have supported some great causes this year which include:

Hallam FM’s Cash for kids – We hold an annual corporate Golf day on their behalf and even though this year’s event had to be a virtual one, we still managed to make it a success.

The Prince of Wales Hospice – Along with various fundraising events, we support the charity by offering free IT collection to generate revenue for the charity.

Worsbrough Bridge AFC – We’ve continued to sponsor the under 10’s football kit.

Support Dogs – We recently challenged our team to complete 10,000 steps a day throughout the second lockdown. This not only helped raise funds for an amazing cause, it also helped the mental and physical health of our staff too.

Ultimately, we’re looking forward to 2021 and hope that things can only get better for people and businesses alike. Thank you to all of our customers and colleagues for the continued support and we look forward to working with you all in the New Year.
