1987

S2S Electronics is Formed

Founded in Huddersfield, S2S Electronics begins its journey as a manufacturer of high-quality electronic products, quickly establishing itself in the growing technology market. 

1996

Bruce Electronics is Established

Based in Sheffield, Bruce Electronics is founded as part of Bruce Metals, specialising in recycling computers and IT equipment. With a strong focus on environmental responsibility, Bruce Electronics makes its mark in the evolving field of IT Asset Management. 

2002

RID is Formed

In collaboration with S2S Electronics, RID is created to meet the rising need for WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) recycling. This partnership emphasises sustainable practices and expands the group’s recycling capabilities. 

2007

Merging of Three Key Players 

S2S Electronics, Bruce Electronics and RID join forces, merging into a single entity focused on IT recycling and WEEE processing. This consolidation creates a more robust organisation ready to tackle the complexities of responsible e-waste management. 

2010

Rebranding as S2S Group 

Under the new ownership of Grant Barton, the company rebrands to S2S Group, embracing a fresh vision and mission. The name change reflects its broader commitment to secure and sustainable IT lifecycle solutions. 

2012

Expansion to Rotherham 

S2S Group relocates to a 45,000-square-foot secure processing facility in Rotherham, bringing together a team of 15 staff members. This new site enhances the company’s ability to offer top-tier IT data destruction services in a highly secure environment. 

2017

Celebrating 30 Years 

Marking a significant milestone, S2S Group celebrates three decades of operation. This anniversary highlights the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation within the electronic recycling and IT security industries. 

2019

State-of-the-Art Facility at Farfield Park 

S2S Group invests in a £2,000,000 facility at Farfield Park, designed to meet the highest standards of security and efficiency. This move solidifies the company’s position as a leader in secure IT asset management and data destruction. 

2020

Strength through Adversity 

Despite the challenges of lockdown, S2S Group demonstrates resilience, maintaining strong performance and emerging from the pandemic better and more prepared to meet the industry’s demands. 

2021

Record-Breaking Growth 

With a dedicated team of 35, S2S Group reaches its highest turnover to date, achieving £4 million in revenue. This success underscores the company’s growing reputation and expanding client base. 

2022

Another Record Year & Strategic Acquisition 

S2S Group surpasses its previous turnover goal, reaching £4.5 million and growing its workforce to over 40 employees. That year, S2S Group also acquired Glasgow Computer Recycling, extending its services and footprint in the UK. 

2023

A Commitment to Fair Wages 

S2S Group takes another step toward its core values by officially becoming a Living Wage Employer, reinforcing its dedication to ethical practices and employee welfare. 

2024

Launch of a Bold Growth Strategy 

S2S Group launched its 3-year growth strategy plan for 2024–2027, partnered with Leeds-based marketing agency, Fantastic Media, to drive business expansion, and underwent a complete rebranding, including a new logo and a refreshed focus on its core values.
