S2S Group partnered with a large health insurance agency to manage the secure collection, data erasure, and redistribution of their IT assets. This project highlights S2S Group’s commitment to combining robust data security practices with sustainable and impactful solutions.
Data Erasure: Certified and Secure-Data-bearing devices, including PCs and laptops, were wiped using Blancco’s certified data erasure software at S2S Group’s facility, ensuring sensitive data was fully erased and compliant with industry standards. Once the erasure of data is complete, a certificate of destruction is provided to the customers for added assurance.
Sustainable Recycling: Reducing E-waste – any asset which failed data wiping via Blancco’s certified data erasure software was sent for further recycling and destruction – in line with the WEEE Directive and following POPs Regulations. By opting to wipe data and re-use the assets, the customer minimised environmental impact and advanced their sustainability goals.
Redistribution: Once the data had been wiped from the devices and they had been refurbished to look and function like new, the PCs were donated to local schools, allowing students without home devices to perform their studies remotely, boosting productivity and aligning with S2S Group’s mission to reduce the digital divide and extend IT asset lifecycles.
Managing IT Asset Disposal for a Large Health Insurance Agency
The project began with S2S Group collecting 170 PCs from the organisation’s headquarters in Sheffield. These devices were securely transported to S2S Group’s facility, where they underwent thorough data erasure using Blancco’s certified data erasure software, ensuring complete compliance with industry standards for data security.
Once all devices were securely wiped, they were returned to the health insurance agency. However, in a demonstration of community commitment, the organisation decided to donate these PCs to children in education who lack access to electronic devices at home.
This initiative not only supported the secure management of IT assets but also contributed to bridging the digital divide, providing critical resources for students who need them the most.

Using Blancco’s industry-leading data erasure software, the PCs were wiped to our recognised standards, providing the client with a verifiable record of secure data destruction. This process reassured the organisation that all sensitive information had been effectively removed before the devices were repurposed.
