The S2S Group 2050 pledge – A commitment to Net Zero
S2S Group is committed to achieving Carbon Net Zero status by 2050.
Why Carbon Net Zero?
With businesses contributing to nearly a fifth of the UK’s carbon emissions, this is a commitment that S2S Group is passionate about and hopes to help others reduce their environmental impact too.
Committed to helping businesses meet their sustainability targets
Waste electronics and electrical equipment (WEEE) is one of the fastest-growing waste streams on the planet. Recent advancements within the technology industry means electronic products are now redundant faster than before.
This waste can harm our environment when improperly disposed of; leaking pollutants into our Earth and wasting valuable internal materials. S2S Group seeks to prevent and limit this wastage of materials by offering businesses a service to recycle their electronic items.
Not only does this prevent electronics from going to landfills, but it also saves the carbon emitted in the harvesting of new materials and the creation of new products.
S2S Group promise to:
Improve its Processes
Ensure S2S Group practices are as environmentally friendly as possible, continuing to improve and develop S2S Group services for its clients and the planet.
Empower its Customers
Enable S2S Group clients to make positive choices and change their environmental impact.
Offset Carbon Emissions
Offset any emissions which can’t yet be reduced to zero to balance the remainder of S2S Group’s carbon output.
Carbon Net Zero
How is S2S Group going to get there?
S2S Group’s SME Climate Commitment
As stated on the SME Climate Hub website, ‘small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) represent 90% of businesses globally’. This means that small businesses, like S2S Group, need to step up and make changes to ensure it takes climate action and commits to net zero emissions before 2050 to avoid the worst effects of climate change.
S2S Group’s commitment seeks to follow the SME Climate Commitment and cut its emissions to net zero by 2050, to reduce its carbon emissions as quickly and effectively as possible. S2S Group believes that by pledging to the commitment ourselves, it can help other businesses do the same by supporting them through sustainable electronic recycling.
