As the year draws to a close, we are proud to look back on twelve months of progress, achievement, and meaningful impact. From expanding our influence within the IT Asset Disposal (ITAD) industry to strengthening our commitment to sustainability and supporting our team and community, 2025 has been a year defined by momentum. Every milestone reflects the dedication of our people, the trust of our customers, and our mission to make secure, sustainable IT disposal the standard across the UK.
In this roundup, our CEO Grant takes a look back on our 2025 highlights and how key milestones have shaped our culture, client results, and contribution to the environment and wider ITAD sector.

Q1: A strong start for S2S Group, cementing our 2025 goals
The year began with the publication of the first edition of S2Say It from David Woodriff, a blog series in which our team members share their expertise and insights on the ITAD industry. We celebrated loyal team members like Mario, who celebrated five years of service in January, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to recognising the people who make S2S Group what it is.
Our 2025 strategy meeting with Bailie Group and Fantastic Media strengthened cross-team collaboration and set ambitious goals for the year ahead. Completing a six-month leadership programme with Hannah Miller gave our management team advanced skills in communication, influence and people-focused leadership. These investments have already had a powerful impact on team culture and customer experience, which we plan to expand upon in 2026.
In March, we demonstrated our commitment to partnerships and community values. We celebrated a decade of supporting Sheffield United FC and sponsored their Steel City Synergy networking event, giving attendees a close-up look at our shredding truck in action – a powerful demonstration of secure data destruction. Our team members, James Wilde and Andy Szczupak, highlighted the loyalty and progression within S2S Group’s team, while our support for local homelessness charity The Archer Project and donation of IT equipment, tables and chairs, and outdoor decorations to the YWCA’s Hive Project showed the extension of our company values beyond business.
Q2: Growing our industry presence and investing in our people
In April, we strengthened our industry visibility by exhibiting at the defence procurement and supply chain event DPRTE in Farnborough, connecting with industry professionals to raise awareness of the importance of secure, compliant IT asset disposal for this sector.
Passionate about supporting our clients’ needs, we sponsored our valued client, Andrew Parker, in running the London Marathon. Andrew raised over £20,000 for me & dee charity, reflecting our belief in giving back and empowering others to make a difference.
Mental Health Awareness Week saw our team take on a charity steps challenge, raising funds for Mind, reinforcing wellbeing as a year-round priority.
Perhaps the most transformational moment this year was securing a £500,000 investment from Bailie Group. This support has accelerated our ability to grow sustainably, invest in technology, and enhance service quality for customers across the UK and beyond. As the year reached its halfway point, we furthered our commitment to environmental responsibility through attending the Recycling Expo, where we connected with like-minded organisations intent on creating a circular economy and shared ideas. Our feature in the Green Business Journal further reinforced our position as a sustainability advocate within ITAD, where CEO Grant Barton shared his thoughts on why IT reuse and recycling are crucial for businesses.
Q3: Awards, achievements, and sustainability certification
July was one of the most significant months of the year for our business. Gaining EcoVadis Gold placed S2S Group among the top companies globally for sustainability performance, a certification that strengthens trust with environmentally conscious clients.
We had a strong start to awards season, winning two SME News IT Awards for Best IT Asset Disposal Services and the Award for Excellence in Innovation 2025, highlighting our leadership in the industry. We were shortlisted for Growing Business of the Year: Turnover up to £5 million and Customer Experience Award at the Growing Business Awards, a testament to our dedication to going the extra mile for our clients and our drive to achieve business growth.
Our recognition expanded nationally when we were announced as finalists for the Good Small Business Awards in the Circular Economy category, reinforcing our commitment to best practice in sustainability. The shortlist announcement for the Doncaster Business Awards further validated our ongoing growth and commitment to driving real results for our customers in the ITAD industry, where we were shortlisted for Small Business of the Year.
As a proud Yorkshire-based business, we celebrated Yorkshire Day in August by hearing from our team what they love about our county – no surprise that the kindness of our people and a good brew were mentioned!
During National Recycling Week in September, we used our platform to promote circularity in IT disposal, strengthening our role as industry educators.
Q4: Charitable work and international expansion
October brought more recognition as we were shortlisted for the MRW National Recycling Awards. Exhibiting at DISA allowed our team to demonstrate our secure and sustainable IT disposal practices to a wide audience in the defence and security sectors.
A new partnership with All-Star Shredding Ltd expanded our service capability and reach into Ireland, enabling us to expand our footprint into Europe. Our combined expertise will support more customers with secure IT asset management solutions.
Ruby Parker’s S2Say It feature continued our commitment to sharing insights directly from our expert team about real-world challenges impacting the ITAD industry.
Our bonfire bake-off raised funds for the Archer Project, while Movember and International Men’s Day put wellbeing and awareness at the forefront for both our team and customers.
